How to Get to Perros-Guirec & the Côte de Granit Rose

The Côte de Granit Rose lies at the far end of northern Brittany, but it’s not as far away as you might think: just over three hours by train from Paris. Here’s how to get there, and how to get around once you’ve arrived.

By train: the TGV to Lannion

The nearest station is Lannion, around twenty minutes by car from Perros-Guirec and Trégastel.

From Paris Montparnasse, some TGVs run directly to Lannion in just over 3 hours. Others stop at Plouaret-Trégor or Guingamp, where a TER regional train takes over to Lannion.
Connections are often short, around 10 to 15 minutes: if your TGV is running late, leave yourself some margin, especially in the evening.

From Lannion station, it’s a further twenty minutes or so to the coast, by taxi, hire car or bus. Let us know your arrival time and we’ll point you to the simplest option for your dates.

By car

From Paris, allow around 5 hours: motorway to Rennes, then the N12 dual carriageway across northern Brittany to Guingamp, and finally the road to Lannion.
From Rennes, around 2 hours via the N12.
From Nantes, around 3 hours 30.

A car remains the most flexible way to explore the coast, especially out of season. Once you’ve arrived, though, you can often leave it parked: both our houses are within walking distance of the beaches and the coastal path.

By plane

There are no scheduled flights to the coast itself. The most convenient airports are:

Brest Bretagne, around 1 hour 30 by road;
Rennes Saint-Jacques, around 2 hours by road.

Both have car hire desks on site.

Getting around once you’re there

On foot: the coastal customs officers’ path (sentier des douaniers) links Perros-Guirec, Ploumanac’h and Trégastel along the sea. See our walking ideas.
By bike: handy for getting to the beach or the market, with a few hills between the villages.
By shuttle: in summer, shuttle buses serve the beaches; timetables are published each season by the local tourist office.
By car: essential for farther-flung outings, such as the Sillon de Talbert or Tréguier.
